Activision will now focus on call of duty: modern warfare 3 as call of duty brought the best revenues. Activision made alot of moves for doing this some of them may looks strange for you and the rest isnot understandable and only Activision knows the reason of these moves.The most surprising move is that Activision will reduce its workforce by 7% which are about 500 people and lets hope they find gainful employment soon. This move is not understandable but it is just a sacrifice for call of duty modern warfare 3.
Another move was that Activision will release no new music or skateboarding games which was confirmed by Thomas Tippl. Guitar Hero and DJ Hero were canceled and won’t be released this year.
As a result of the last move Activision has shut down seven studios which are part of its music game division. where half of those who laid off will receive two months worth to compensate their removal and the other half will receive 4 months worth as those will be involved with the aforementioned lawsuits.
Activision has created a studio, beachhead, to work on call of duty series on the future, Beachhead will focus on players enjoyment to continue playing and buying call of duty play a role in monitoring delivery and innovative call of duty content and services.
Activision is concerned about its future which strongly related to call of duty modern warfare 3 success as this year will includes a huge competition between it and EA Games who will release their famous first person shooter game bad company 3 soon after alot of arrangements by Ea Games to sweep the market by beating modern warfare 3.
